Yesterday Red was in the mood for Los Primos after work. I'm not too crazy about that place anymore because it reminds me too much of my ex. I can't even eat carne asada fries because that was his food of choice there. I've been carne asada fries free for over 4 months. That's rather unheard for someone that lives in San Diego.
We walked in and I see that the mean manager is working. This guy is on his early to mid 20's, yolked out, cute and cocky as hell. He always gave me and my ex attitude everytime he took our order. I kinds braced myself as we walked up to the counter.
Suprisingly, he was super nice to Red and I. He asked us what plans we had for the evening. Asked where we worked and stuff. The 3 of us made good small talk. We ended up knowing the same people through the small world of retail. We're laughing and shooting the breeze. Red's a funny guy and has this guy cracking up.
He then offers us chocolate entemann donuts. Thats really nice of him. Yummy stuff! Red hesitates but i suggest we split one. Haha. I figure Red and I have been very good about our work outs that half a donut wouldn't set us back. We get our food to go and say goodbye to our new friend.
Red and I came to the conclusion that our new friend was drawn to us because we were the most socially normal customers in Los Primos. We look like we would have plans for a Saturday evening. All the other customers were the socially awkward looking kids from the local university. Haha.
I tell Red that our new friend use to be very rude to me and my ex. I was close to filing a customer complaint on this guy a few times. Haha. Red points out that my ex is socially shy and most likely rubbed our new friend the wrong way. Interesting. I can see that happening.
Lesson of the day: learning proper social skills in kindergarden is a must. Be delightful and charming! It makes life nicer for you and others.

Post Stink Eye
My buddy wanted to confront the mad dogging chickie at his work today and he did. He called her out for giving me the stink eye. She admitted that " I have to work on that ". The chickie was upset that my buddy strolled into his work with me. Too funny. My buddy must have been smirking from ear to ear.
Then another co-worker of his asked him about me. His " girlfriend ". WTF ?! I guess if you're an outsider, you would assume such things, but that's so weird in the world of suite 26. But I supose that's what I get for hanging out with mostly guys. I wouldn't change it though because I have the best guy friends ever. Who's gonna mess with a girl that hangs out with guys all the time? Haha.
Anyways, this co-worker said I looked like a total gold digger! Moi! A gold digger! Me! If anything, in my last relationship I was more of a sugar mama. I brought home the bacon. Actually now that I think about it, I always paid my own way in all my relationships. I never needed or wanted a guy to pay my way. I love the fact that I can buy myself nice things.
So i'm shocked that a stranger thought of me as a gold digger. Perhaps the way I carry myself might indicate I like nice things. My gucci bag is rather flashy. Its shiny with a fun tassel. I do my best to look pulled together. Especially since I'm single. Haha. I do find great fashion inspiration from Blair and Serena from Gossip Girl. But still, being called a gold digger is insulting. I was wearing boyfriend jeans rolled with a black tank top, a black cardigan, Jessica Simpson heels and my rocking my Gucci bag. That's so not a gold digger type outfit.
My buddy being the awesome friend that he is, totally corrected his co-worker. He got insulted from the gold digger comment. He stated the fact that I hold my own mula and I take care of myself super well. I love my friends always. They stick up for me when I'm not around to defend myself.
Lesson of the day: Assuming out loud makes people look like jackasses. Especially if their assumption is way off.

Stink eye?!
I was running errands with one of my good guy friends after work. We had to stop by his work to take care of some business. He introduced me to some of his co-workers as we made a big purchase, well I made a big purchase. We went towards the back of his store to check out other goodies.
I made eye connect with this young honey bee. She straight up " mad dogged " me, also known as giving me the " stink eye ". This honey bee is a cutesy asian girl that works with my friend. I brushed off the mad dogging as typical weird Asian behavior. Walk into any Tapioca Express or Yogurt World and you will know exactly what I'm talking about. Asians love to stare down other Asians, especially if they don't know you. I figured this chickie was hating on my Gucci bag or shoes.
My buddy and i leave his work with my fun purchase. My buddy tells me he caught that chickie giving me the stink eye. Then he reveals that she is the same girl that's been kinda sort of sweet on him.
This chickie thought I was " with " my friend because we came in the store together buying to buy a phone and add another line. She mad dogged me because she thought I was stepping her toes. My buddy was pleased that this girl got jealous, as any guy would. I got more annoyed because this chickie has a no idea who I am. I'm the mama bear in my group of friends. Let's say it's very wise for people to make a good first impression with me. To my friends, I'm a toughie apparently and I'm finally embracing it.
Lesson of the day: do not mad dog me. I'm way too scrappy.

7hrs Away
My dear friends Firl and Robert live 7hrs away in Gilroy. Gilroy is also home to the world famous Garlic Festival. Firl and Rob come visit us on fun holidays like Halloween and most recently, the 4th of July. Everyone anticipates their visits with much excitement and impatience.
The moment they get here, everything feels right. Especially with Firl. You see, Firl moved back to Gilroy a few years ago.(Sadness) Leaving an empty hole in the suite 26 family. Things were a lot quieter. There was less laughter. We love and miss Firl's laugh so much that Ace often will play this recording of Firl laughing her ass off. That recording makes everyone smile.
With Firl gone, we were 1 girl less. The guys out number girls in suite 26. I frequently find myself as the lone chick at times. The butt of " that's what she said " nonsense. I miss my girl time with Firl. But I do have Lisa and Lou thank goodness!
As I was saying, everything feels right again when Firl is in town. I love how we pick up from where we left off. No awkwardness. No silence. No weirdness at all. Its like Firl and Rob are the missing pieces to our puzzle. When there gone, we don't feel whole. When there here, we're a whole again.
Everyone is much happier when Firl is back " home " with us. Everyone is in better moods and are up for any adventures to come our way. I guess we appreciate each other's company much more when we are together as a whole.
I wish awesome friends like Firl, Rob and Lelanie lived in SD with me. I try to surround myself with good friends on an every day basis. Life is too short to allow jackasses to be part of your personal life.
I miss my friends that live 7hrs away so much. Now, if I can only get them to move to SD faster, all will be right again. Or find a hookup from southwest and fly them down every weekend. Haha.

Day 2 of midnight workouts w/ Red
Red and I have been hitting gym recently. Today will mark the 2nd day in a row of our midnight workouts. I feel so pumped right now. I gotta get fit!
I called back Firl shortly after finishing my workout session. We were both on speaker phone. Her boyfriend Robert commented on how perky I sounded over the phone. I was so full of energy at 2am that he's not sleepy anymore. Haha. Who would have that my ball of energy could have travel through 2 blackberries and affect someone 7hrs away!
I am so determined to keep up a 4 day workout schedule. I want a flat tummy, toned thighs and arms!! Thank goodness I have a great workout buddy like Red to push me. The hardest part of getting fit is going to the gym. Once you're there, its a piece of cake.
Lesson of the day: find a workout buddy. They will you reach your goal. Plus its fun to hit the gym with a friend.

Who's Marvin? Leo?!
I'm a huge fan of Will and Grace. I have almost every season thanks to Tam picking them up on sale at Target.
Remember when Grace got married to Leo? The first time around? During the reception, Grace's mother-in-law asked her about "Marvin". Grace asked who "Marvin" was. Leo raises his hand. The shit hits the fan. Grace began to find these important truths about Leo that never surfaced before. Grace is upset because she felt like she married a stranger/liar face.Grace runs out of the reception with Will chasing after her. Then the arc ends on a happy note.
WeIl, I found out some odd truths about someone I have known for a year or two. It was an "OMFG " moment where my mouth dropped in disbief. Then more truths spill out and I'm beyond floored. Its sort of like finding out that the Santa Claus at the mall isn't really " the real Santa ". But instead of being disappointed, I'm more annoyed. Very WTF?!
I found myself wondering why this person did not speak the truth about themself. Was this person ashame of themself? No, that can't be. Maybe this person is bored with themself that they have this need to fool people. Or encompass themselve into a different persona because they want a reaction from people.Or they encompass a different persona due to interest or admiration they have with this character.Perhaps, that's it. I can try to understand these reasons to a degree.
However,I find this all annoying and weird that the truth never surfaced from this person. If anything, they kept lying and making up stories. Stories that I believed due to my naïve nature.
Lesson of the day: don't hide who you are. Fess up to the truths about yourself.and life will be a lot less stressful.

besties
I had hands down, the best 4th of July weekend ever. One of my dearest friends, Firl was in town. She happens to live 7 hours away in Gilroy. Firl and her very cool boyfriend Robert was kind enough to treat suite 26 with their awesome presence these pass few days. We had lots of fun and crazy adventures.
On Friday, we decided to go to the Del Mar Fair originally at 3pm. Things came up and we did not leave till 4pm. Suite 26 tends to roll very deep, 6 or more when we're out and about. People lag, but it is usually worth it due the great company we share with each other. It took us 2 1/2 hrs to get to the fair. Normally, the drive would have taken us 20mins.
To kill time, Firl scrolls through her camera. We all stroll down memory lane. Laughing at old birthday celebrations and get togethers. As a group, we have been friends for roughly over 5yrs. Tam points out a picture of him and Firl at Escondido's North County Fair Mall. " Hey, that's where we meet and became best friends ". Ace is sitting next to me and I realized something funny. Ace and I meet working together at the same mall too and became besties.
Fun fact of the day: Besties come from Escondido!
2nd Fun fact of the day: Never go to the fair on the last weekend it is in town.
3rd Fun fact of the day: If we do chose to go to the fair, take the back way into Del Mar.
As draining as the drive was, we all had a blast! It was worth the wait when you're in the company of great friends and great food.
The prize of the day: taking 2 cute photobooth pictures. we squeezed in 6 people. beat that!
