Yesterday Red was in the mood for Los Primos after work. I'm not too crazy about that place anymore because it reminds me too much of my ex. I can't even eat carne asada fries because that was his food of choice there. I've been carne asada fries free for over 4 months. That's rather unheard for someone that lives in San Diego.
We walked in and I see that the mean manager is working. This guy is on his early to mid 20's, yolked out, cute and cocky as hell. He always gave me and my ex attitude everytime he took our order. I kinds braced myself as we walked up to the counter.
Suprisingly, he was super nice to Red and I. He asked us what plans we had for the evening. Asked where we worked and stuff. The 3 of us made good small talk. We ended up knowing the same people through the small world of retail. We're laughing and shooting the breeze. Red's a funny guy and has this guy cracking up.
He then offers us chocolate entemann donuts. Thats really nice of him. Yummy stuff! Red hesitates but i suggest we split one. Haha. I figure Red and I have been very good about our work outs that half a donut wouldn't set us back. We get our food to go and say goodbye to our new friend.
Red and I came to the conclusion that our new friend was drawn to us because we were the most socially normal customers in Los Primos. We look like we would have plans for a Saturday evening. All the other customers were the socially awkward looking kids from the local university. Haha.
I tell Red that our new friend use to be very rude to me and my ex. I was close to filing a customer complaint on this guy a few times. Haha. Red points out that my ex is socially shy and most likely rubbed our new friend the wrong way. Interesting. I can see that happening.
Lesson of the day: learning proper social skills in kindergarden is a must. Be delightful and charming! It makes life nicer for you and others.
