My buddy wanted to confront the mad dogging chickie at his work today and he did. He called her out for giving me the stink eye. She admitted that " I have to work on that ". The chickie was upset that my buddy strolled into his work with me. Too funny. My buddy must have been smirking from ear to ear.
Then another co-worker of his asked him about me. His " girlfriend ". WTF ?! I guess if you're an outsider, you would assume such things, but that's so weird in the world of suite 26. But I supose that's what I get for hanging out with mostly guys. I wouldn't change it though because I have the best guy friends ever. Who's gonna mess with a girl that hangs out with guys all the time? Haha.
Anyways, this co-worker said I looked like a total gold digger! Moi! A gold digger! Me! If anything, in my last relationship I was more of a sugar mama. I brought home the bacon. Actually now that I think about it, I always paid my own way in all my relationships. I never needed or wanted a guy to pay my way. I love the fact that I can buy myself nice things.
So i'm shocked that a stranger thought of me as a gold digger. Perhaps the way I carry myself might indicate I like nice things. My gucci bag is rather flashy. Its shiny with a fun tassel. I do my best to look pulled together. Especially since I'm single. Haha. I do find great fashion inspiration from Blair and Serena from Gossip Girl. But still, being called a gold digger is insulting. I was wearing boyfriend jeans rolled with a black tank top, a black cardigan, Jessica Simpson heels and my rocking my Gucci bag. That's so not a gold digger type outfit.
My buddy being the awesome friend that he is, totally corrected his co-worker. He got insulted from the gold digger comment. He stated the fact that I hold my own mula and I take care of myself super well. I love my friends always. They stick up for me when I'm not around to defend myself.
Lesson of the day: Assuming out loud makes people look like jackasses. Especially if their assumption is way off.
